Today I got a request for an animal. They requested the Burmese python, so here it is.They are native to the southern parts of Asia. They are semi-aquatic so they are often found near water, however they can be found in trees.Like the anaconda and boa, pythons are constrictors.Their diet consists of any birds, mammals,or reptiles that are appropriately sized. These snakes come in many colors, patterns, and sizes. The longest python, that has been captured, was found in Indonesia and is almost 49 feet long.

  1. I'm not a huge fan of snakes, but I do find them interesting and respect them as an important part of our ecosystem. If only people would stop dumping their unwanted, overgrown exotic snakes in the Florida Everglades and other places in the U.S. without indigenous enemies to keep them in check. They're eating everything in the Everglades! :(
